A Different Rest

“Most people think of Rest merely as sleep—it’s what you do when you fall into bed and close your eyes. But resting is not just physical; it’s also a state of being.
Think about the past week. Has it been characterized by Rest? Maybe you slept eight hours every night, but work stress kept your heart racing and shoulders tense. Or perhaps you took a few days off work, but those days were filled with back-to-back commitments. That’s not Rest, friend.
Rest is more than sleep and more than simply not working. True rest is being content in the Lord. It’s living your life trusting Him and surrendering control over your life to Him. Rest means allowing not only your body to physically rest, but also your soul to spiritually rest. Find rest today, even in the midst of busyness and cares. Pass your worries to the Lord—and find contentment for the deepest part of your soul…” (Rest)
More and Less

“Think of friends who always seem happy and cheerful…Happier people tend to appreciate everyone around them and forgive more easily. These actions are meaningful to people and make the bonds of friendship stronger. When you are happy, you are easy to be around as well.
Your happiness is like a magnet that attracts others and causes them to appreciate you. They also want the same happiness that you have so their closeness could be their way of learning from you. However, if you are a person who forgets special days, then you cause heartache as expectations are crushed and hopes are dashed.
Think about being a ‘more and less’ person. Choose to forgive more, and choose to be less self-absorbed. Remember to value others by giving compliments, thanking them, and spending time with them. As you cheer friends on and rejoice with them, you will find you are happier. In letting go of yourself to focus more on others, you will share hope. You will build more friendships with people who will cheer you on…” (Hope)
The Key of Forgiveness

“…You may have locked someone out of your heart because of pain, resentment, or anger. Forgiveness is the key that will help you unlock the door to let the person back in to your heart and life.
Forgiveness opens your heart to free you from your pain and focus on hope again. When we choose to love and forgive, we are opening the door to the kingdom of heaven. Continue to show others the ways of the kingdom so that they can learn how to forgive rather than keep their hearts locked in hatred or isolation…” (Hope)
Perfect Focus

“Does your future look blurry? Are you uncertain of the direction your life is taking—or even should take? We all deal with that st one time or another. But take comfort. God is an expert at bringing blurry futures into perfect focus. He may do it only one step at a time, one moment at a time. But you can trust His vision for your life.
In those times when your future seems blurry and uncertain, turn to God for direction. He promises that He’ll never forsake those who seek Him. He will never leave you lost and wandering. Rest in the guidance He will give you, trusting Him day by day, moment by moment, step by step.
If you are a follower of Christ, the Lord is with you always. He won’t let you down, and He’ll never forget your needs. Rest in knowing that the Lord will bring perfect focus to your life when you seek Him…” (Rest)
